Several deer spent the day nestled in the snow near the house yesterday. This one got up and wondered closer to get his picture taken.

There was much excitement this morning at the appearance of a bird I had never seen before. This is a Common Redpoll. The picture doesn't do justice to the bright maroon spot on the top of its head.
