Hiking Mt Arab
It was a beautiful day today so we climbed Mt Arab and got great views from the fire tower. It was an easier hike than I remembered, probably because I have a new knee to hike with. I didn't take my camera so no photos to share.

Whiteface
We have family visiting and decided to drive/hike up Whiteface Mountain, which we haven't done for a long time. Unfortunately, since it is a holiday weekend, there were LOTS of people with the same idea. We had to wait about 20 minutes in line before we could get a parking spot. We hiked up to the top and got a great view, but then decided to take the elevator down since we were short of time.

Hiking Goodman Mountain
We were supposed to paddle Middle Saranac Lake to Weller Pond today, but the trip got canceled due to forecasted high winds. So we decided to hike up Coney Mountain, figuring the winds would be good to keep away the bugs. When we got there the parking lot was full and there were two school buses parked along the road. We didn't fancy that much company on our hike, so we drove down the road to the pull off for Goodman Mountain. We'd never hiked it and this seemed like the time to try. It was a nice hike and while the top does not have a 360 degree view like Coney, we did have a nice 180 degree view.

We went to Well Dressed Food for lunch afterwards - yum.

Hiking Stone Valley
We had a nice hike today in Stone Valley. We spotted cars and just did the ~3.5 mile one-way hike. The water is quite low, but it is still picturesque. We were surprised that we encountered no bugs. That might have something to do with the temperature - mid 80's and humid - so we were awfully hot by the end of the hike. The group stopped at Hideaway Cafe for a late lunch afterwards.
