Final House Construction Post

We finally got sod today.  Here at last is a photo of the house with the completed front yard.  The landscaping is finished as well.  We even bought and put in some plants today to fill in some open spots.

Hello, Again

It has been a busy 2 months since I posted last.  We finally are finished with most of the moving in stuff, though there is still the garage to paint and arrange and a couple of closets still need shelves.  But we will be heading for camp at the end of the week, so those chores will have to wait.

Last week was an especially busy one with our final chorus concert for the season and the Rebecca's Reels quilt show where I won a first prize ribbon in the small pieced quilt category.

We Have Moved

We finally closed on our new house on March 6th after many delays.  We have spent the time since then unpacking, installing closet rods, towel rods, etc and generally exhausting ourselves.  It will be a long time before the house is "done".  I'll post better pictures once we have landscaping.  Given the weather, that may be a while.  We woke to snow this morning, but just a dusting.  Nothing like at camp where they have nearly 2 feet.

House Status

They keep putting off the house closing.  Now it is set for March 4th.  We were there yesterday and were surprised to find a driveway and sidewalk.  They were working like mad on the inside and we sure hope the closing doesn't move again.

We stopped by the lot again and saw that we now have a back wall to the great room.  Just look at the space for all those windows.

We also now have trusses to hold up the roof.

We Have a House - Sort Of

And here is the great room - mysteriously missing its back wall.  This view shows the nice deep lot we have.

This shows the second floor - in the pile by the curb.  The sections stacked on the trailer in the background are a house that belongs several lots down.  I wonder how many of these trailers come in in a day.
