Belugas, Narwhals, and Polar Bears Cont'd

There were dozens of beluga whales swimming near shore.  And there were several narwhals mixed in though it was harder to see them.  They have mottled gray backs and their tusks rarely come out of the water.  These white patches that look like ice are the backs of belugas.

We saw lots of harp seals and this bearded seal.

There were lots of gulls, mostly glaucous gulls and some ivory gulls.

And lots of polar bears.  Both on shore

And swimming.

You can always see where the wildlife is by looking where the people are on the ship.

For lunch on this sunny day, we had a barbecue out on the deck.
