That's a Lot of Snow

Another New Jersey Snow

Here we go again. Underneath all this snow is a couple inches of ice from the sleet and freezing rain that fell first. Sure glad we don't have to go out today.

Ice Carving

We had fun today watching an ice carver turn blocks of ice into sculptures advertising some of the stores at Pier Village. Here is a sample.

Finally finished the baby quilt for Christopher and Alicia's baby.
Just couldn't resist the cute fabric. Hope the baby likes it.

More Snow

..in New Jersey, that is. We have had much more snow than in the Adirondacks. Meanwhile, I've been happily quilting. I don't normally post a quilt until it is complete, but this one is going to take a long time so I just have to give a sneak preview. This is a view of my design wall. The final quilt will have 36 squares. I am loving working on it, even though I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it when it is done.

Storm Aftermath

We drove back to NJ today. With the temperatures rising, we were worried about leaks from the melting snow on the deck finding its way down into the sewing room. What we discovered instead were several leaks in the master bedroom, from snow that had blown through the attic vent, melted, and ran off the insufficient plastic sheet we put up there after the last such incident. Sigh. And there is still plenty on the roads. We found several places where lanes are still partially blocked by snow. Sure hope we don't get any more before this melts a lot more. Meanwhile the near 50 degree temps in the Adirondacks were quickly melting the little bit of snow there, leaving the skiers wondering when they'll ever get on the slopes.
