After breakfast we headed for Killarney, enjoying more
scenery on the way.
Our first stop was the Killarney National Park where we rode
in jaunting cars through part of the park.
We learned that rhododendrons are so prolific in that part of Ireland
that they are considered an invasive and are being removed from the park.
This tea house in the park has one of the best examples of
thatched roofs that we saw.
This old stone fort is one of the attractions in the park.
Later, we had time to explore Killarney
and visited St Mary’s
Cathedral.
We will spend the next two nights in the Malton Hotel in
Killarney.
