We Have Moved

We finally closed on our new house on March 6th after many delays.  We have spent the time since then unpacking, installing closet rods, towel rods, etc and generally exhausting ourselves.  It will be a long time before the house is "done".  I'll post better pictures once we have landscaping.  Given the weather, that may be a while.  We woke to snow this morning, but just a dusting.  Nothing like at camp where they have nearly 2 feet.

House Status

They keep putting off the house closing.  Now it is set for March 4th.  We were there yesterday and were surprised to find a driveway and sidewalk.  They were working like mad on the inside and we sure hope the closing doesn't move again.

Quilt #29

I finished my first quilt for this year's show.  I love the way the cut-off corners enhance the pattern.  Given all the issues with the new house, it may be my only quilt in the show.  Sigh.

Ice Palace From the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival

We had a nice get-together with friends this evening and then went to see the Ice Palace lit up.  It is quite spectacular this year, with a Celtic theme.

I especially like the dragon.

Orchid Show

Before heading back up to camp tomorrow, we stopped in to the annual orchid show at Dearborn Farms.  It was wonderful, as always.  And of course I couldn't resist taking some photos.

House Progress

It is getting there.  They were putting in insulation today.  Still no firm closing date.

Happy Holidays

We drove to NJ for Christmas.  And while there, we learned that the closing for our new house has been moved off once again - now it won't be finished until mid-February.  So we will be "commuting" between NY and NJ for several more weeks.  Sigh.

Quilt #28

This one is for the guest room in the new house.  This is just the top.  I'll wait until I get to NJ and rent time on a long-arm to quilt it.
This is a closeup of just a few of the blocks.  Each quilt is a learning experience.  In this case I discovered that fabric for a stack-n-whack can be too busy and have too many colors, but I used all the blocks anyway.

On Our Way to Camp

We had an uneventful flight from Ft Myers to Newark this morning.  We were very lucky.  Most of the flights yesterday were canceled due to a big snowstorm along the east coast.  We picked up our car from the airport hotel and drove to Albany, which had at least a foot of snow.  We are staying here overnight and will do some Christmas shopping tomorrow then drive to camp, where the high tomorrow is forecast to be 2 degrees.  Brrrr….
